The word "bar" in architecture means the construction element used to cover the horizontal openings and to receive the principal load. The same is true in the dentistry. To recover the teeth in the mouth cavity the dentist uses a few implants only, i.e. from 3 to 8, and these implants are evenly distributed across the jaw. The bar system allows all the implants to be joined with each other and then to fix the prosthesis from above, because just inside the prosthesis the dental technician reproduces the second part of the fixture.

The bar prosthesis has a number of advantages as compared to the other removable prosthesis fixtures:

– reliable prosthesis fixation;

– uniform distribution of load;

– easy care;

– easy removal, the lack of discomfort;

– long service life.
